Sunjoy Pradhaan, a distinguished dance
educator and contemporary movement innovator from Mumbai, India, has been
honoured with a prestigious recognition by the Worldwide Book of Records
(UK-recognized) on 22nd August 2025. This honour celebrates his exceptional and
influential contribution to the field of contemporary dance—both within India
and across global platforms.
This recognition places him in the historic
achievement of becoming the First Indian Contemporary Dance
Mentor/Teacher/Artist to successfully curate and conduct Contemporary
Style–specific dance workshops across 13 major Indian cities, covering the
cultural and geographical diversity of the North, South, East, and West.
Alongside these national milestones, his international imprint includes
workshops in Singapore, New Zealand, Austria, and Belgium, reaffirming his
global artistic presence and the cross-cultural relevance of his work.
With more than a decade of professional
excellence behind him, Sunjoy has served in multiple creative
capacities—Supervisor, Choreographer, Assistant Rehearsal Director, and Senior
Instructor—at the acclaimed Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company, widely
recognized as India’s No.1 Dance Company. During his tenure, he contributed
significantly to advanced training, choreographic processes, stage productions,
and artistic development of hundreds of emerging dancers.
His artistic brilliance was further
acknowledged on the global stage when he represented India at the Impulstanz
International Dance Festival in Vienna, Austria—known as the largest dance
festival in the world. Competing against top artists from numerous countries,
Sunjoy achieved a remarkable feat by securing the 2nd Runner-Up position at the
International Dance Battle in 2017, bringing pride and visibility to Indian
contemporary dance on an international platform.
Over the past five years, Sunjoy has
expanded his influence through his self-designed Online Personal Training
International Dance Certified Program, a meticulously crafted global mentorship
initiative. The program has garnered outstanding ratings and is considered
among India’s leading online personal dance training systems. Through this
platform, he has guided and trained students from New Zealand, USA, UK, UAE,
South Africa, Canada, Indonesia, Austria, Singapore, and Nepal, establishing
himself as a mentor whose impact transcends borders, cultures, and age groups.
As an educator, Sunjoy is deeply committed
