According to the latest national survey, National Family Health Survey – 5 (NFHS-5, 2019-21) among those aged 15-49 years, the prevalence of diabetes (elevated blood glucose) was ~4.9 % (4.80-5.00%). Hypertension in the same age range was found to be about 22.8 %. Anaemia was recorded at about 57.0 % among women aged 15-49, was about 25.0 % among men of the same age range, and ~67.1 % among children aged 6-59 months. In case of infections, e.g., acute respiratory infection (ARI) in children under five, the prevalence was about 2.79 %. Yes, there are ample of developments that are taking place and have been undertaken from various institutions. But still, there is a large gap of delivering and rendering healthcare, specially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 areas. Firstly, there is unavailability of doctors and a proper guidance for people for treatment plan. Even there is hardly any preventive healthcare and awareness. Again, there are Health Camps being organized but there was no proper mechanism for follow-up of the patients. Hence, the existing Health Camps remain a tool for marketing and social media presence. This gap was well noted by Dr. Dipan, the Co-founder and CEO of MedBlog18 Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.
Basically, here’s the thought: there is enough number
of diagnostic centres, doctors, facilities, treatments. But they are not at the
right place and not equally distributed.
To bridge this gap and bring the ultimate healthcare solution, MedBlog18
has initiated Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) or in simple word Health Camps, in
several places, primarily in West Bengal. Again Health Camps? No, these camps
have special features that make them much empowered than the traditional ones.
Based on the concept, Dr. Dipan cofounded MedBlog18
Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. along with Mita Ghosh, co-founder and COO, and with a
great team.
The stakeholders of our health camps and how they can
play role in our health camps.
Patients: getting some doctors at a fixed
place on a regular basis at either an affordable cost or sometimes at Free of
Cost. Keeping a continuous connection with us through WhatsApp enables them to
discuss their daily health problems.
Doctors: It provides an
opportunity to engage with a wider patient base outside their regular practice
setup, along with a digital and physical promotion of the
doctors.
Nursing
Homes and Other Hospitals: They can sponsor our MMU/health camps in order to
promote themselves; they usually hold camps to promote their services. Here,
they can sponsor our camps and get the same promotion without wasting a lot of
money behind it and allotting staff for the whole day.
Organizing
Committee or NGOs:
they can also arrange such activities for the society for a good cause.
Lab and Pharmacy Services: MedBlog18
collaborates with already operating laboratories and pharmacies to provide
blood test collection and medicines to the patients.
