Panipat, Haryana — Indian
Advocate and Author Nikhil Chugh has released a new book aimed at strengthening
public understanding of basic legal rights and criminal law procedures in
India. The book focuses on simplifying complex legal concepts and making them
accessible to ordinary citizens who often interact with the legal system
without fully understanding their rights.
Through this publication, Nikhil Chugh seeks to address one of the most significant gaps in the Indian justice system: the lack of legal awareness among the general public. While India has a detailed and evolving legal framework designed to protect citizens, many individuals remain unaware of fundamental procedures such as filing complaints, interacting with law enforcement, or asserting their legal protections.
Speaking about the purpose of the book, Nikhil Chugh emphasizes that legal awareness is not merely an academic concept but a civic necessity. The well-known legal principle that ignorance of law is not an excuse underscores the importance of citizens understanding their rights and responsibilities under the law. According to Nikhil Chugh, empowering people with knowledge about legal processes can reduce fear, prevent misuse of authority, and strengthen trust in the justice system.
The book builds upon Nikhil
Chugh’s ongoing efforts to promote legal awareness through multiple public
platforms. Over the past few years, Nikhil Chugh has actively used social
media, including Instagram and YouTube, to explain legal procedures, rights during
police interactions, and important provisions of criminal law in simple
language. In addition to digital outreach, Nikhil Chugh also engages with
audiences through public speaking and legal discussions aimed at encouraging
informed citizenship.
With the release of this book,
Nikhil Chugh hopes to create a more permanent and structured resource that
readers can refer to when seeking clarity about their legal rights. The work is
designed for students, young professionals, and ordinary citizens who want to
better understand how the law functions in everyday situations.
The publication reflects a
broader vision of strengthening legal literacy in India. By translating legal
concepts into practical knowledge, Nikhil Chugh aims to encourage citizens to
become more aware, confident, and responsible participants in the legal system.
This book is available globally on Amazon, Flipkart, Apple Books, Google Books, and Pothi.
