NEW DELHI: With the 2027 Municipal Corporation of
Delhi (MCD) elections approaching, the Delhi unit of the Nationalist Congress
Party (NCP – Ajit Pawar) is focusing on strengthening its organisational
presence across the national capital. Delhi State President Shri Virendra Singh
is leading the party's efforts to expand its organisational framework and
deepen its presence at the grassroots level. As part of this process,
experienced political figure Shri Harsh Vardhan J. Rathore has been given
responsibility for supporting the party's organisational expansion and
strengthening its network across Delhi.
A Background in Grassroots Organisation
Harsh Vardhan J. Rathore brings experience from his
involvement in grassroots political organisation. His political journey
includes working within the organisational structure of the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) in Gujarat between 2012 and 2014. With this background in political
organisation and public engagement, he has now been entrusted by the NCP (AP)
leadership with an important responsibility in Delhi, where the party is
working to expand its organisational network and establish a stronger presence
across different parts of the city.
The responsibility comes at a significant stage for the
Delhi unit as political parties begin preparing their organisational structures
well ahead of the next civic elections. Under the leadership of State President
Shri Virendra Singh, the focus is on strengthening coordination among party
workers, developing organisational teams and building a wider grassroots
network across municipal wards and assembly constituencies. The approach places
emphasis on maintaining direct engagement with local communities and
understanding issues that affect residents at the civic level.
Preparing the Organisation for the 2027 MCD Elections
The Delhi unit's organisational preparations include efforts
to establish dedicated teams across municipal wards and strengthen the party's
presence at the booth level. The objective is to create a structured network
through which party workers can maintain regular contact with residents and
bring local civic concerns to the organisation's attention. Such grassroots
engagement is expected to form an important part of the party's preparations as
it works towards the 2027 MCD elections.
For Rathore, the new responsibility also represents an
opportunity to bring together party workers and strengthen communication
between the organisation and citizens. Upon accepting the responsibility, he
expressed his gratitude to the party leadership and Shri Virendra Singh and
stated his commitment to working towards greater coordination among workers,
encouraging wider public participation and developing a responsive
organisational presence across assembly constituencies and municipal wards.
From Organisational Experience to a New Responsibility in
Delhi
The appointment also reflects the importance of
organisational experience in building a political presence at the local level.
Municipal politics often involves issues that directly affect everyday life,
including civic services, infrastructure and neighbourhood-level concerns. A
structured grassroots network can provide political organisations with a
mechanism for maintaining communication with communities and understanding such
issues more closely.
For the NCP (Ajit Pawar) Delhi unit, the immediate focus is
therefore on organisational consolidation and expansion. The party's efforts
under Shri Virendra Singh, together with the responsibilities assigned to
Rathore, are centred on strengthening the organisational framework and
increasing coordination across different levels of the Delhi unit. The
preparations are taking place well ahead of the civic elections, giving the
organisation time to develop its local network and establish consistent engagement
with workers and residents.
Looking Ahead to 2027
The road to the 2027 MCD elections will involve
organisational work across Delhi's municipal and assembly constituencies. For
the NCP (AP), the current phase is focused on building that organisational

its workers. The appointment of Harsh Vardhan J. Rathore forms part of these
