₹50,000 Towards Welfare Activities
Coimbatore: With the objective of promoting
sports, encouraging healthy lifestyles and creating awareness among youngsters
against drug addiction, Coimbatore JCI Zenith Zone 17 is organising ZPL 2.0 –
2026, a cricket tournament with the theme “Bat for Zero Hunger – No Addiction
to Drugs, Addiction to Sports.”
The initiative aims to use cricket as a
platform to deliver a strong social message, particularly among the younger
generation. The organisers seek to encourage youngsters to stay away from drugs
and harmful addictions and instead develop a positive interest in sports,
fitness and other constructive activities.
A total of 24 teams have registered for the
tournament, with participation from Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Ooty, Salem and
Trichy. The event brings together cricket enthusiasts from different parts of
Tamil Nadu while creating awareness about the importance of sports and social
responsibility.
Actress Nilani Supports the
Welfare Initiative
A key highlight of the programme is the support
extended by popular actress Nilani, who has contributed ₹50,000 towards the
welfare activities associated with the initiative.
Her contribution adds strength to the social
objective of ZPL 2.0 and highlights the importance of supporting
welfare-oriented programmes. The organisers have expressed their appreciation
for her contribution and support towards the initiative.
The organisers also hope that such support will
encourage more individuals, organisations and public personalities to

“No Addiction to Drugs –
Addiction to Sports”
The central message of the tournament is “No
Addiction to Drugs – Addiction to Sports.”
Through this campaign, the organisers aim to
encourage youngsters to channel their energy towards sports and positive
activities. Sports can help develop discipline, teamwork, leadership,
confidence and commitment while providing youngsters with a healthy and
constructive environment.
The organisers believe that sporting events can
play an important role in creating awareness and motivating young people to
make responsible choices.
Bat for Zero Hunger
The tournament is being conducted under the
theme “Bat for Zero Hunger,” connecting the spirit of cricket with a broader
welfare objective.
The organisers aim to use the event to promote
social responsibility and encourage greater participation in welfare
activities. With 24 teams taking part, the tournament provides an opportunity
to combine sporting competition with an important social message.
Prizes and Player Recognition
To encourage participating teams and recognise
sporting talent, prizes have been announced for the top three teams.
The first-place team will receive ₹15,000 along
with a trophy and medals, while the second-place team will receive ₹10,000 with
a trophy and medals. The third-place team will receive ₹5,000 along with a
trophy and medals.
Individual players will also be recognised
through special awards including Man of the Series, Best Bowler and Man of the
Match.

ZPL 2.0 is designed to be more than a cricket

promote sports, welfare and awareness among youngsters.
