DCI Mumbai Meetup Draws 1,297 Visitors, Marking a New Milestone for India's Diecast Collecting Community

Organised at Lakeshore Mall, Thane, the event brought together collectors, sellers and displayers from across the country. The five-member organising team has now announced a multi-city India Tour.

THANE, October 25, 2026: India's growing diecast collecting community came together in large numbers at Lakeshore Mall, Thane, on October 25, as the DCI Diecast Meetup Mumbai Edition 01 recorded an attendance of 1,297 people. The gathering brought together collectors, sellers and displayers from different parts of the country, making it a significant event for India's miniature collectibles and diecast enthusiast community.

Organised by Diecast Collective India (DCI), the meetup offered enthusiasts an opportunity to showcase their collections, discover rare and new models, buy and sell collectibles, and connect with fellow hobbyists. The event also provided a platform for independent sellers and collectors to engage with a wider audience.

DCI is led by a five-member organising team comprising Siddhanth, Abhilash, Shubham, Omkar and Ashutosh. Operating as an independent private group, the team has been working towards bringing India's scattered diecast and collectibles communities together through organised, city-based gatherings.

One of the key highlights of the Mumbai edition was its structured event setup. Moving beyond the format of a conventional collector gathering, DCI introduced dedicated canopies, a media wall, designated seller spaces, collection display areas and separate activity zones. The approach brought a more organised event experience to a hobby that has traditionally relied on smaller community meetups and online interactions.

The event also featured dedicated Game and Trade Zones. While the Game Zone offered visitors an opportunity to participate in interactive activities, the Trade Zone encouraged collectors to exchange models, discover new additions and interact with other enthusiasts. These experiences added another dimension to the gathering, making it a community-focused event rather than just a marketplace for collectibles.

For sellers, the meetup provided direct access to a large and engaged audience. Collectors and displayers had the opportunity to present collections built over several years, including miniature vehicles, limited-edition models and other sought-after pieces. Visitors, meanwhile, could explore collections, meet fellow enthusiasts and discover more about the hobby.

The turnout of 1,297 visitors reflects the growing interest in diecast collecting in India. Over the years, the hobby has developed beyond a niche interest, with collectors increasingly connecting through social media platforms, online groups and local communities. Events such as the DCI Mumbai Meetup are creating opportunities for these online connections to translate into real-world experiences.

DCI Announces Multi-City India Tour

Following its meetups in Pune and Mumbai, DCI has announced an India Tour that will take the event to several cities across the country. The initiative aims to connect regional collecting communities, provide opportunities for local sellers and displayers, and make organised meetups accessible to enthusiasts beyond major metropolitan centres.

·        Surat: Nitrox Cafe – 21 November 2026

·        Bengaluru: Lady Jehangir Memorial Hall – 6 December 2026

·        Odisha: 13 December 2026

·        Pune: 10 January 2027

·        Nagpur: 17 January 2027

·        Delhi: 13 February 2027

·        Hyderabad: 13 March 2027

Each stop is expected to bring together local collectors, sellers and displayers, while also attracting enthusiasts from neighbouring cities and regions.

Through the India Tour, DCI aims to create a more connected national platform for the diecast and collectibles community. The idea is to give enthusiasts an opportunity to participate in organised gatherings within their own regions, while offering sellers and collectors greater visibility and access to new audiences.

With its Mumbai edition attracting 1,297 visitors, DCI is looking to build on the momentum and take the community experience to more parts of India. What started as an effort to bring collectors together through city-level meetups is now expanding into a multi-city initiative.
